*Reservation- still required ?*

INDIA....not just a name but a country that nestle the maximum number of races.
But with versatility came various problems between various castes and people were discriminated and tortured.
Before independence, existence of UNTOUCHABILITY due to this caste system became reason to introduce RESERVATION after 1947.
The concept of Reservation was essential to bring forward the scheduled class, tha backward people which were lacking education and employment opportunities.
Time passed and the concept of reservation indeed helped in bringing the natin together. The fundamental right of EQUALITY between citizens was now actually taking place but even after that stage, Reservation remained in scenerio which started creating difficulties for the general class. Today talented and deserving people dont get seats in educational institutions and high profile companies. Reason being majority of such seats are reserved for scheduled castes and people belonging to backward class.

In central-government funded higher education institutions, 22.5% of available seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students (15% for SCs, 7.5% for STs). This reservation percentage has been raised to 49.5% by including an additional 27% reservation for OBCs. This ratio is followed even in Parliament and all elections where a few constituencies are earmarked for those from certain communities (which rotate per the Delimitation Commission).

The exact percentages vary from state to state:

In Tamil Nadu, the reservation is 18%[11] for SCs and 1% for STs, based on local demographics.
In Northeast India, especially in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Mizoram, reservation for ST in State Govt. jobs is 80% with only 20% unreserved. In the Central Universities of NEHU(shillong) and Rajiv Gandhi University, 60% of seats are reserved for ST students.
In Andhra Pradesh, 25% of educational institutes and government jobs are reserved for OBCs, 15% for SCs, 6% for STs and 4% for Muslims.[12]
In West Bengal, 35% of educational institute seats and 45% of government jobs are reserved for SC, ST, and OBC (25% SC, 12% ST, 10% Muslim).

But still, the condition of so called underprivileged sections in India are the same even that we have crossed so many decades of independence. Reservation is working in the opposite direction to its main objective as is demarcating the society further. It is being used to uplift one section of the society at the cost of another, which is not fair. Instead of this there should be equal opportunities for all. Moreover, a capable candidate does not need any certificate of being from a lower caste to prove their worth. It is his mind, education and ability to compete that can bring change in life. Taking a seat just by showing your under privileged certificate won’t give you anything, but just the degree or a job.

Also the reservation system in India is creating a workforce which is not capable enough to compete at the global level. India needs people for growth and development but reservation is adding undeserving candidates as well. So I think reservation system should be demolished and if the government really wants to uplift the underprivileged sections of the society then a well-balanced policies should be formulated. First of all such sections of the society should be clearly identified that need development and financial aids. Then to uplift them free education, or incentives and financial assistance should be provided. Once done let them face the competition, true competition. Make them capable, show them theright path and infuse a fighting spirit in them as no one is against healthy competition.

This post is not like giving some solution to this reservation problem because a single person cant do anything on his own level but unity can.
We can discuss and think of what can be the possible solutions for this problem.
One effort we can do in this problem is making the people aware of this reservation system who are still lacking in their development.
Other suggestion i feel towards this problem is we make a union with our colleagues, friends, teachers or senior staff and record a video giving our opinion over this unfair RESERVATION system and pressurise the government continously by displaying same videos over news channels.
Rest i can be wrong also regarding my suggestions but we all need to do some effort. Afterall when we would discuss our opinions with each other and would try to bring out some solution towards national problems, only then we would be able to actually eliminate such devasting problems from roots.
We YOUTH are the FUTURE of INDIA and so we need to be more responsible and conerned towards our india than the present government employees.

Attack on Humanity - Bomb Attack. -----------------------------

I have seen dead people before. I have seen them on television, on the news, on their deathbeds, with their loved ones carrying them to the hospital. But I have never seen dead people like this. Lying in pools of blood, lying without their hands or legs. I have never seen anyone die in front of me, screaming for help. And I can do nothing for them. People were looking at Me with hope in thir eyes. And I was standing their helpless, like a fool. They were fighting for their lives, breathe their last, and die.

For a second I lost my all senses. My ears ring from the noise of the blast, and now all I can get a view is, people running here and there to save their life. Images were blurred. All I could see is RED. Blood everywhere. On the ground, on the bodies of people everywhere.. On Me. I was not sure if it was mine or it was theirs. All I knew is my skin was burning because of the heat. I was hardly able to see anything - because of the ashes. In next moment I realized it was ' A terrorist attack'. Yes, it was a Bomb blast happened in Mumbai Local Trains. I was lucky that I was safe or I was unlucky to witnessed the blast ? The view near Me was horrible. People were running here n there some with bodies in their hands. I could hear sirens blaring in the distance. It was police or ambulance I guessed. I scrolled my eyes around, I tried to stand up. With lot of efforts I managed to get up. I wanted to help them. Who were screaming for their life.

In the next moment, I saw a scene that left me speechless. A person was trying to remove Gold jewelery from a dead body. I was completely shocked. I mean how can people be so cruel at this time ? All they can think about all these ? How can we take benefits from someone's death ? That too so horrible death.

------------------------

Terrorist attacks are attacks on our country. Wich takes away thousand of lives in a moment. Its the time we should be united. Its the time we should help each other. Its the time we need to think about everyone. Who are losing their lives, Who are losing their loved ones.

Yes there are people who does not even hesitate to take any one's life on the name of religion. But we need to stand together ignoring all religions. Because we are *INDIANS*.

Open your eyes to stop these activities. Open your heart to help others. Stay alert and help to keep our Country safe.

"STREET CHILDREN-THEIR LIVES..THEIR STRUGGLE.."

"Street children"..a word thats enough to give us goosebumps..but for many of us its just a word but for many of the poor children its the harsh reality which they face everyday..

They live on streets which are noisy, smoky, smelly, crowded and chaotic. On the footpaths scruffy kids who beg, steal, shine shoes andsmear car windows in an effort to make a few rupess is a common scene.Boys, living on the streets have many jobs to do..pick pocketing, working on fruit stalls etc.

Though India is said to be a developing economy and it has lots of money but stll the 80% of the population lives on less than Rs 100 a day..HARSH REALITY!

The different jobs that these kids do..they can earn upto Rs 200 a day but there's a catch..you know what??..Street children have no place to keep the money where it won't be stolen,by adults,by bigger kids and sometimes by the corrupt police. They have to spend everything they earn everyday so there's no chance of saving and because of this these kids spend all their money on almost everything negative..be it drugs or getting involved with sex workers..they do it all which later on leads to harsh consequences but no one cares about it because they are "BRAIN WASHED" right from their childhood. They are taught that "studies" are a burden where all the freedom and entertainment they get will be lost!

And girls on street..the fate of the girl child on streets is even grimmer than that of boys.Almost all of them are quickly scooped up by brokers who sell them into prostituition.Police barely bother about those kids..they get their commission even from these poor kids..Now what else can be expected from the police????...

I am not telling that the government doesn't help these kids..they do! They provide these children with food and also give them shelter in dharamshalas and government school at night but the problem is that the level of curroption is so high in India that only a few amongst these lakhs of children gets benefited from these facilties.

Apart from all this the worst part of their life is "SLEEPING ON THE STREETS"..Its too scary, there's alwayz a fear that some vehicle would run over them and they will be dead.Infact sometimes accidents do happen and they loose their life for no fault of theirs at all.

We say that the crime rate has increased so much but do we know the actual reason for it??..The reason is that these children when grow up..most of them get into drug business and other illegal activities and who is to be blamed for that??..The government..the police or we the common masses..??...Well..nobody knows the answer..i guess!

Its not like no one is trying to help out..There are many NGO's who try their best to help these children. Many children who are forced in this world are rescued and properly treated.NGO programmes has helped sensitize visitors..foriegn and Indian alike to the problems of street children.Street kids who have gone through the trusts programmes are today living a very prosperous life by getting into some of the prestigious jobs ranging from engineers, doctors and the list goes on..

But still the situation is very grim.Although the government gives away money to these children still the status is as bad as always and eventually the government is going to run out of money and their situation would remain the same..

So we the common people should also contribute our bit for their upliftment. We can volunteer to work in shelters and programmes in our respective areas.Donate funds or supplies to organisation that work with the street youth. We should also educate ourselves..our peers..colleagues..family members about these issues.

There are nearly 18 million street children in our country "jinse unka bachpan cheena jaa raha"..

I know we can't help everyone..
But everyone can help someone..right???...

-Sheerin..

P.S : This post is based on the conversations i had with one of my friend "KALYANI BHONGLE" who works for an NGO and had spent a day with some of the street children of Mumbai. All the ideas and experiences are solely of her.

Indian Youth and Politics

Two words, multiple and challenging, can describe Indian political system very well.

Facing innumerous problems it is on a complete downfall. A change is needed, its high time now. And the need of the hour is young Indians to step up and join politics and take India to a brighter road.

The field of politics is usually a perception that it is not so suitable for the educated ones but now this is completely opposite. Only when the well educated and trained youth with bright ideas will step up and take the development of the country in their own hands, the country would prosper. Its true ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY but constant work and dedication would surely bring the change. The presence of young minds would create a positive impact in the mindsets of people. In many areas, youth leadership is proving to be successful. If given an opportunity, the young minds are sensitive enough to relate to prevailing issues and concerns of people.

Since the start, our country has faced so many problems and the youth is now a victim of those which are still persisting. Persistent problems are looked over by the youth with a new and different perspective. New ways and means are needed to combat with the issues that are black shadows for our country and the solution is youth leadership with bright ideas, new focus, approach and aggression. We should advocate for peace and should also be preapred with defensive strategies to answer any threat it may anticipate.

Instead of sitting home criticising the system, why doesn't young India step up and *Be the change it wishes to see in the country.* There are plenty of issues that need to be sorted out, some old and some taking birth, which need to be sorted out for many generations to come and for many generations which have gone.

The past may not have been so vibrant and dynamic for our country which had to face many socio-political problems but now is the time for the change, now is the time for young India to come and step up and change the present scenario and then walk the country to a new tomorrow and Make India THE GOLDEN BIRD once again.

Suicide: Causes and Indications

Many of us have heard the news of people commiting suicide and studies show that the people who commit suicide includes teenagers and youngsters more as compared to the adults. In 1996, the National Institute of Medical Research have shown scientific evidence that the people who give away their lives were suffering from mental disorders and also failure, rejection, broken trust and relationships have been a major cause for this.
Few months back I witnessed a suicide case of a 22 years old guy who shot himself dead. The reasons were failure in long-term love relation. I want you people to just stop for a minute and think, who brought you in this world? You have your Family, your friends, relatives. How can you forget about them? Your existence is because of your parents. Had they not given birth to you, you wouldnt be where you are today. Its necessary for every youth to understand the importance of a Family and their Life. Failing in anything should not lead to Suicide.
The reasons that lead to suicide are curable. Studies have shown that the mental and abnormal disorders are treatable. It can be easily recognized from the symptoms a person shows.
There are few symptoms associated with such
disorders as depression, bipolar
disorder (manic depression), anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use, disruptive behavior disorders, borderline personality disorder, and schizophrenia.

Some common symptoms of these
disorders include:

•Extreme personality changes
•Loss of interest in activities that
used to be enjoyable
•Significant loss or gain in appetite
•Difficulty falling asleep or wanting to sleep all day
•Fatigue or loss of energy
•Feelings of worthlessness or guilt
•Withdrawal from family and friends
•Neglect of personal appearance or
hygiene
•Sadness, irritability, or indifference
•Having trouble concentrating
•Extreme anxiety or panic
•Drug or alcohol use or abuse
•Aggressive, destructive, or defiant
behavior
•Poor academic performance
•Hallucinations or unusual beliefs.

If you find any of these symtoms persisting in your loved ones, try talking to them and figure out their problems and the reason behind it. Sometimes, these people only need someone to listen to them. It is wisely said that "Half of the problems get solved by just telling it to someone or listening to someone's problems actually reduces half of their problems."

People never hesitate in giving lives for their failures but when asked to give life for the country, everybody backs out. Its high time people to do something for the country. Instead of giving your life for the failures in life, join Navy, Army and serve our country, our Mother India. You may find yourself useless at times, but everyone is here for a purpose. Undestand the value of your Life and make it meaningful. Invest it in doing right and take it to a right direction.

Real story of American Dollar v/s Indian Rupee....................

An Advice to all who are worrying about fall of Indian Rupee

Throughout the country please stop using cars except for emergency for only seven days (Just 7 days)
Definitely Dollar rate will come down. This is true. The value to dollar is given by petrol only. This is called Derivative Trading. America has stopped valuing its Dollar with Gold 70 years ago.

Real story of American Dollar v/s Indian Rupee

Americans understood that Petrol is equally valuable as Gold so they made Agreement with all the Middle East countries to sell petrol in Dollars only. That is why Americans print their Dollar as legal tender for debts. This mean if you don't like their American Dollar and go to their Governor and ask for repayment in form of Gold,as in India they won't give you Gold.

You observe Indian Rupee, " I promise to pay the bearer..." is clearly printed along with the signature of Reserve Bank Governor. This mean, if you don't like Indian Rupee and ask for repayment,Reserve Bank of India will pay you back an equal value of gold.(Actually there may be minor differences in the Transaction dealing rules, but for easy comprehension I am explaining this)

Let us see an example. Indian petroleum minister goes to Middle East country to purchase petrol, the Middle East petrol bunk people will say that liter petrol is one Dollar.
But Indians won't have dollars. They have Indian Rupees. So what to do now? So That Indian Minister will ask America to give Dollars. American Federal Reserve will take a white paper , print Dollars on it and give it to the Indian Minister. Like this we get dollars , pay it to petrol bunks and buy petrol.

But there is a fraud here. If you change your mind and want to give back the Dollars to America we can't demand them to pay Gold in return for the Dollars. They will say " Have we promised to return something back to you? Haven't you checked the Dollar ? We clearly printed on the Dollar that it is Debt"
So, Americans don't need any Gold with them to print Dollars. They will print Dollars on white papers as they like.

But what will Americans give to the Middle East countries for selling petrol in Dollars only?

Middle East kings pay rent to America for protecting their kings and heirs. Similarly they are still paying back the Debt to America for constructing Roads and Buildings in their countries. This is the value of American Dollar. That is why Many say some day the Dollar will be destroyed.

At present the problem of India is the result of buying those American Dollars. American white papers are equal to Indian Gold. So if we reduce the consumption of petrol and cars, Dollar will come down

The Above Details are translated originally from Telugu Language to English by Radhika Gr.
Kindly share this and make everyone aware of the facts of American Dollar V/s Indian Rupee.

And here is a small thing other than petrol , what we can do to our Indian Rupee

YOU CAN MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE TO THE INDIAN ECONOMY BY FOLLOWING FEW SIMPLE STEPS:-

Please spare a couple of minutes here for the sake of India.
Here's a small example:-

Before 12 months 1 US $ = INR Rs 39
After 12 months, now 1 $ = INR Rs 62

Do you think US Economy is booming? No, but Indian Economy is Going Down.

Our economy is in your hands.INDIAN economy is in a crisis. Our country like many other ASIAN countries, is undergoing a severe economic crunch. Many INDIAN industries are closing down. The INDIAN economy is in a crisis and if we do not take proper steps to control those, we will be in a critical situation. More than 30,000 crore rupees of foreign exchange are being siphoned out of our country on products such as cosmetics, snacks, tea, beverages, etc. which are grown, produced and consumed here.

A cold drink that costs only 70 / 80 paise to produce, is sold for Rs.9 and a major chunk of profits from these are sent abroad. This is a serious drain on INDIAN economy. We have nothing against Multinational companies, but to protect our own interest we request everybody to use INDIAN products only at least for the next two years. With the rise in petrol prices, if we do not do this, the Rupee will devalue further and we will end up paying much more for the same products in the near future.

What you can do about it?
Buy only products manufactured by WHOLLY INDIAN COMPANIES.Each individual should become a leader for this awareness. This is the only way to save our country from severe economic crisis. You don't need to give-up your lifestyle. You just need to choose an alternate product.

Daily products which are COLD DRINKS,BATHING SOAP ,TOOTH PASTE,TOOTH BRUSH ,SHAVING CREAM,BLADE, TALCUM POWDER ,MILK POWDER ,SHAMPOO , Food Items etc. all you need to do is buy Indian Goods and Make sure Indian rupee is not crossing outside India.

Every INDIAN product you buy makes a big difference. It saves INDIA. Let us take a firm decision today.

we are not anti-multinational. we are trying to save our nation. every day is a struggle for a real freedom. we achieved our independence after losing many lives.
they died painfully to ensure that we live peacefully. the current trend is very threatening.

multinationals call it globalization of indian economy. for indians like you and me, it is re-colonization of india. the colonist's left india then. but this time, they will make sure they don't make any mistakes.

Russia, s.korea, mexico - the list is very long!! let us learn from their experience and from our history. let us do the duty of every true Indian. finally, it's obvious that you can't give up all of the items mentioned above. so give up at least one item for the sake of our country!

*ARE WE REALLY UNITED?? *

India..... A country which stood united even though the people here are of different religions. India is an example of unity in diversity all over the world. We have 31 states, 6750 languages, 9 main religions still we all stood together as one country!!
Where a Muslim family and a Hindu family can act as one family being neighbors for years .
Where a Hindu friend can understand Muslim in a better way .
Where a servant is more loyal to you than your son .
Where people helps you without being bothered about your religion.
Where we say “ Hindu Muslim Sikh Isai apas me he bhai bhai “ but do we really hold it?
is it really so? Are we really treating each and every religion equal??
Well this incident forced me to say no..... Yeah we still believe in untouchability.... I was travelling by bus. A man of around 30 was sitting next to me. He seemed to be well educated by his dressing sense and the way he talked. After some time a Muslim guy entered the bus . As the bus was full he was standing right beside our seat. He kept his luggage in the rack. A sudden anger on that Muslim guy by this man made me astonished. And his words hurts me as well " mere bag me ganga jal h tere samne se chune se ye bhi ab ashudh ho gaya "
In my whole journey i was in shock. I mean how could his touch can make the water impure? Is he not a god gift? He was also a normal human na.... Then why this discrimination? Are we really united?
Many a times even my grandmother told me “ beta u r studying away from us… make sure you don’t have Muslim friends”. I don’t understand why? Is it a crime to have a muslim friend? Are they not INDIAN’S? okay… their ancestors may belong to some other nation but now even they are a part of our country… our India. They have been serving our country the same way we do. Then why this discrimination?
I know its difficult to make our elders understand this fact. But atleast we can promise to ourself that we wouldn’t hurt anybody because of this discrimination.
Lets all pledge together that for us every soul living in India is INDIAN….. he/she may be muslim/hindu or may belong to any other religion or state but first of all he/she is an Indian.
treat everyone equally.
Only small changes can give rise to revolution.

Grow up people..... This is hurting not only them but also our mother india!!!

Let us promise ourselves that from now on whenever we are asked where we belong to, we would proudly say "INDIA"...!!

P.S. : It was not to point out any particular religion... This was a real incident!!

*Shemales* - They are also part of Society.. !

Few days back I saw a Tv program on - Issues faced by Shemales. And trust me it was horrible. when I tried to search it on Net, all I got is dirty things about Shemales. Most of the results were showing them as Shemale by choice. As they prefer to be Shemales. Few sites also showed them as Porn stars. What the hell..? I mean did you ever tried to go to them and ask them personally..? Are they like this by their choice..? Hell NO. They are not like this by their choice. It was GOD who created them like this. And so they are left with no option. No one will be happy to known as PORN STAR by their choice.

Whenever we see Shemales we laugh on them, We pass comments about them. We prefer to stay away from them. Have you ever tried to understand them..? They are also human beings, seeking for Love. They also deserve some respect. They also seeks some relations. If we are blessed with normal lives than it does not mean at all that We can make a joke of some one. If you are created by God, so they are also. Than why to differentiate..? They also have equal right to live like Us. But I guess due to our old thinking we are doing big injustice to them.

A shemale is some one who born as male but identifies with the female class and most often has characteristics of a female. Generally a shemale refers to a transwoman, which is a male with characteristics of a female that eventually begins to live as a woman. Most of the shemale's have more feminine characteristics and sometimes will even have female genitalia as well.

Our society does not accept them. This has a drastic affect on the life of the shemale and they face many issues in society that can devastate their life. Society does not have a good understanding of these individuals and they are often targets of cruel and harsh punishment. There are many jokes and issues of poking fun and very subservient treatment to shemales.

If they are different it doesnt mean they cant be with Us. They also want Family like Us. They also need Friends, They also wish to have a Normal life. Why we people are so narrow minded that we react more on how some one look like rather than knowing them from inner side.? How can we be so cruel that we snatch their rights to Live..? How can we decide that some one should not live their life as they want..?

Lets Promise one thing today, If we cant be their friends, We wont make fun of them. Because even they have feelings, and it hurts a lot. Lets try to change our mind sets for Shemales.

A deliberate onslaught on gender equality...

"The place of women in Indian society ."
The image that is formed in our minds when we think about " women " . Gender equality means the treatment given to a man and a woman , being fair and equal . The simultaneous existance only proves that women are as equal and able as man . Those of us who deal with children know better . We know little girls love their dolls and boys just want to kick that ball . This doesn’t mean men can’t take care of babies or women can’t play sports . It just means each gender has its own energy that flows in a specific direction . For God’s sake, let it flow .

On a little lighter note ( which is truer then anything else ) let me tell you , " It Is So Not Easy Being A Women " points .
Being a women means facing those undress-you-eyes , gazing from top of your body to slim legs .
It is really difficult to put stockings on , to walk in high heels , to spend two hours in front of a mirror , to spend five hours on the phone .
Women are more sensitive then men . Crying over petty issues and then feeling better after relieving the stress , ain't as easy at it seems .
Women worry about the dark-circles , the shape of thier body , the hairstyle to suit them , the clothes that they wear and many such things . Yet what a boy sees in her , is her rear .
To bear the most intriguing pain every month and be in those Bad Mood or Mood swing time . The irritation , no guy can ever understand .
To carry a life in your stomach and deliver it after nine months . Vommits , breathlessness , nausea , women face it all just to see the Smiling face of her infant .
If a woman decides not to get married, then she can do whatever she wants , but the minute she says "I do" , she has to follow the Old Testaments .
The guys can go out for Nytouts and spend time Drinking with their friends and feel safe . But a women , she can't be Safe in day time and being all in her senses too .
She can't wear the comfortable clothing and can't move around as and when she wants without asking the permission of elders , unlike her Brothers and other Males at her place .
A man would need a virgin to marry , himself sleeping with every girl that comes along .
A girl can not go and watch the movie of her choice publically , if it has a bit adult content , just because her parents would be worried of , What if smone saw her ?
Before she crosses her tender childhood , she's made to adjust on little things just for the sake of peace after Marriage .
More then her education and her spirits in life , still the thing looked upon is the shape of her chapatis , by her to be in-laws for marriage .
If a women plans to study after marriage or achieve some high posts in the later life , there are chances that she will stay spinster all her life .
Women can manage both , home and her workplace , very efficiently . But only ! when she is allowed to do so .
~ A women bears this all , without a sign of disheartenment on her face . The soul reason being Gender Inequality . The mentality ' women being nowhere , but behind the men ' is the cause . A women is grown up , still , with the primary lesson to respect her man and not try to equalise him in any aspect .

A women is not born to be walked over or stepped on , by men . She's born to walk with him Shoulder-to-Shoulder . To every man that believes he doesn't need women , he is reminded " He's born out of A women , only " . Men can not be working without women . They can't even live in a clean house to have some space to sit , if there is no female to live with them . If a woman were to go up to a man in a bar and ask if he wants to sleep with him , I bet the man will instantly jump at that opportunity . Given that a man were to do the same thing to a woman he meets in a bar , he will likely to get slapped on his face and get thrown out of the bar . Women have pangs of conscience and do not go to a wrong path as compared to men . They also play many roles in her lifetime . A man should marry a woman , not because she is a looker or amazing in bed (she used to be both) , but because she will be willing to sacrifice her own advancement in life for him . It doesn't mean she has to be a housewife that stays home and gets fat while memorizing soap opera dialogue, it just means she is there strong as brick to support him . Women are their loved one's biggest fan , loudest cheerleader , and life’s leaning pole . Children grow up in the care of their mothers . His mother fondly feeds him with milk , pats him and cradles him . The baby in time , grows up into a Fine young man or women , who may even rule the world. It is to be remembered that the greatest conquerors of the world , had all been helpless babies once . Cherishing is a good thing , no one does it better than females .

Value a women , to be valuing yourself . Educate her so that , She can educate the youth . Love her , cuz she will love you back more then you could imagine . Respect her , cuz she brought into this world . Spend time with her , cuz you'll learn a lot about life . Give her equal importance , not becuz I am saying . Because , she's worth it

ILLITERACY : It is not a trivial issue!!!

OPEN YOUR EYES so that those kids who are deprived of "education" can open "books"...!!

Education would perhaps not solve "ALL" problems... But it could stop making things "WORSE"...!!

Education : One of the most important words but equally underestimated...

No education --> Child Labour --> No employment --> Poverty --> Frustration --> Social vices --> Gambling --> ALCOHOL --> Inability to think radically --> Responsibilities overlooked --> Unhappy family --> Unhappy people --> Unhappy nation...!!!

This could sound absurd and unrealistic but mostly all these issues are somewhere or the other linked with each other!!!

It is imperative for everyone in the nation to be "educated", "Educated" enough to realize what is he doing...

Is he on the "right path" or has he taken to a wrong one...
The answer to this can only be given by instilling the basic values in a child...

How will this be possible???

When everyday inflation touches new skies, it is not really practically possible for everyone to "afford" studies....

But this problem has a solution...

At individual level, we can impart education for free to the kids serving at the tea stalls or the kids selling various things at the traffic signals...

If we are financially enough stable, we can even take the responsibility of education for at least "1" of such kids...

If everyone would make such simple efforts from his/her side, we could curb child labour upto a certain extent and even bring an end to education... So two targets at a single shot!!!

By reading this, you would be thinking what miracle would educating one child do???

But if everyone does it for 1 child each, it would be really worth all the efforts...!!

Have you ever imagined how a child "working" at the tea stall would be feeling when people ill-treat him???

"Aye pappu, chai la..."

How he would be feeling when he would not be given enough money for working hard throughout the day..?

He deserves a good upbringing...
He deserves education just like everyone else...

If our constitution has the guidelines of right to "equality", that kid also should not be deprived of that right...!!

At the government level, [ if anyone is reading this ] please give grant to more government schools...
Actually this is possible only if there is no black money and no corruption...
So basically this is a vicious cycle which needs to be corrected from its very roots ...

We can start the process from "EDUCATION"...!!

Make EDUCATION be in the reach of "common man"...

Don't make "education" a business and luxury...
It is a necessity and it is "your" responsibility!!!
It is, in fact, our responsibility as educated and mature citizens of the country...!

That kid deserves to study, play and have a "childhood" where he's free from all worries... He's not supposed to EARN and look after his family ... Atleast not when he's hardly 10 years old...!!

Belonging to a "poor family" is not a good excuse to justify his plight!!!
It is important to inculcate the things called "morals", "ethics" and "values" in him so that he can become a responsible citizen of the country...!!

Another important thing is educating females as well as males equally...
Don't let your beloved daughter wash dishes while your son gets ready to go to school...
Your daughter too could make her parents proud!!!!!

This won't happen by reading talks of wisdom or writing long status updates...
We've to get up and get going... Do whatever bit of help we can!!!
We've to do something concrete in the name of education...

Only then we can create the India of our imagination!!!

*Marriage- its not a business*

Case I :

Seema's residence:

Rajiv's family arrived to see seema so that they can tie rajiv and seema in a pure and sacred relationship for the whole life.
How unique and pure this relation of marriage happens to be.
Two people spend their whole life with complete devotion, trust and love towards each other.
They share their happiness and sorrow with each other and support each other at each stage of life.
But some dirty elements ruin the PURITY of this relation by things like DOWRY.

"Aji hume toh kuch nahi chahie par jo b hi aap doge aapki beti ke hi kaam aayega" rajiv's family exclaimed to seema's family indirectly demanding for dowry.
And seema's family had no other option than accepting the terms and conditions of rajiv's family.
Afterall every parent wants that their daughter remain happy and blessed after her marriage and for that purpose they sacrifice their own heritage to gift it to their daughter.

Case II :

Rashmi's family was preparing for her marriage with siddharth.
Their happiness was at its peak because they were going to marry the blessing of their life and alongwith this happiness there was a satisfaction in the mind and heart of rashmi's parents. They were feeling very lucky on getting a groom for their daughter who dont believe in dowry system, whose family has so high and noble thinking.

*After rashmi's marriage*

Rashmi just woke up. It was her first day in her In-Law's house. She was expecting a treatment where she would be given lots of love and respect but her mother-in-law came and scolded her brutally for sleeping so late and forced her to engage in household work.
And from that day the only thing she got there was just TORTURE, HUMILIATION and violence to force her to get money from her home.
But she never said anything to her family because she knew they wont be able to afford the demands of her in-laws.
After one year, when her tolerance limit vanished, she burnt herself to get rid of the everyday frustation by her in-laws.
The girl lost her life because of her marriage and her family lost the essence of their life

------------------------------------------------
According to Indian National Crime Record Bureau, in 2010, 8391 dowry death cases were reported across india, meaning a bride was burned every 90 minutes. According to Indian police, every year it receives over 2,500 reports of bride-burning. The Indian National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reports that there were about 8172 dowry death cases registered in India in 2008. Incidents of dowry deaths during the year 2008 (8172) have increased by 14.4 per cent over 1998 level (7146).
Why do boys' family demand DOWRY from the family of the girl. Are they selling their son, if so then their son should remain at the girl's residence and act like a servant. Can the family of the boy send their son to act like a servant for the whole life time.
Or they are demanding for DOWRY because their son is not able to fulfill the responsibility of being a husband? If a boy cant fulfill his financial responsibilities towards his would be life partner then he has no right to marry girl and ruin her life. Where is the self respect of the guy that he is begging for money from the girl's family.
Even girl's family agree for DOWRY thinking it would help in keeping their daughter happy and blessed after her marriage but they remain unaware of the fct that by giving DOWRY they are themselves spoiling life of their daughter. And the basic question is why do they agree for DOWRY. They are giving their girl to another family for the whole life and giving money and materialistic things for that? WHY ? Is their daughter a burden over them? Are they giving DOWRY to get rid of the burden?
NO.
Although there are rules and regulations regarding DOWRY PROHIBITION from the side of government but these rules are in vain if they cant be applied properly by common man.
This is high time when we need to change the circumstances and it needs efforts of everyone, efforts of boys' family by not demanding or accepting DOWRY, efforts of girl's family that they deny marrying their daughter in a greedy family for whom DOWRY is the cost of a girl's life and most of all their is need of efforts by us, by youngsters. We guys and girls need to take oath that we wont support DOWRY during our marriage and would try to make people around us also understand that marriage is a unison of two people, two families.
Its not a BUSINESS and so let it be a sacred ceremony that fills happiness in people's lives and not fil their eyes with tears and heart with pain.

People here are saying that writing wont affect anything but we think that it can make a lot of changes, we can think we can first change ourselves and then inspire others for few steps of changes as initiative so that big steps can be provoked by these small changes. So whosoever agree with me, lets take a vow taht either a girl or a boy we are we wont support dowry in our marriages..

Midday meals or a Death Deal???

The Midday meal tragedy which hit the nation last month was the burning topic those days..
But the question is till when would it remain a burning
topic..??..A week..a month..an year and than people as well as
the government would forget about it except those grieving parents who lost their children due to that poisonous food..Now..the government has come in action..enquires are being set on how..when and why this tragedy happened in Saran which claimed
the lives of 27 innocent children..
But..why these actions are always taken only after the tragedy happens..??..Isn't our government aware with the fact that "prevention is better than cure"..??

If they would have kept a regular check on this scheme than perhaps those children
would still have been alive and their parents wouldn't have been
left devastated..And its not just the story of one place..similar incidents came in
light after this tragedy..
In Odisha..a scorpion was found in the midday meal which led to 39 kids falling ill..This
shows the level of being careless by the school authority..how
insensitive authorities canbe??..You are serving food with scorpion??..
What level of hygenic standards do these school follow??..

The government says "Padhega India tabhi to badhega India"..but is only a tag line
enough for India's progress..? Don't you actually need to take
proper steps regarding India's progress?
Padhega INDIA tab jab bachega INDIA..

Compensations are being provided to the grieved parents but would it reduce their pain?
Money can never compensate the loss of loved ones..

Midday meal was a great initiative by the Indian government for imparting
education among the financially weak sector and serve them food
too but now its loosing is effectiveness and its high time
that government realises it!

GIFT OF SMILE

I was standing on roadside stall enjoying paani- puri/gol-gappey. Just then a child of mere 9-10 years came to me and started begging. "Allah ke naam pe kuch de do bhaiya, 4 din se kuch khaya nhi h." As we so called high society people just throw them away. And same thing is applied on me. "Hurrrr.. Paise nahi hai, mere paas. Go." although i was enjoying my gol-gappey plate. "Bhaiya, ek aur plate banana." i instructed the vendor. That child was standing near me and was seeing me with moist eyes. I never saw someone so keenly. He was just doing two things. Watching me and then my plate. May be he was really hungry. But i didn't believed it. I was suspecting of him lying as he was in perfect attire of begging. And beggars most commonly lie to get some money in lieu of our sympathy. After watching me for a while, he went back and sat with a girl barely 6-7 years old. They both were exchanging some words and don't know why but girl started to shed tears. That was the time i felt i did something wrong by refusing that child. I noticed both of them. They were fragile and weak. Their skin colour was pale and i remember when i was a child, i used to be healthy and glowing. Infact, every other middle class family child is like that. They were poor i could sense that. But, their bodies were not as of some growing up child. The shape of their bones were visible very clearly under their skin. They looked as if they just had 1 cover of skin on their bones. So thin. I couldn't resist myself so i went to both of them and asked what happened. They both told me that they hadn't ate anything since yesterday . I asked about their parents to which they replied that their mom works as a vendor and from past few days, the selling had not been good so two square meals were very hard for them now. And their father would remain whole day in liquor intoxication. He was that typical husband who would take all money for his liquor addiction. I was shrugged away on listening this. I am one of the students who waste half of the money in tasting something and then throwing it because i didn't like it. I would throw my phone in anger irrespective of the damage caused to it. But, see these children. They suffer for each and every penny. I just had 50 rupees with me then as i spent all in my "Chamak-dhamak status". I took them to a nearby dhaba and made them eat whole heartedly. Seeing smile on their faces made me feel so happy and satisfy that it couldn't be explained in words. But, after biding them good bye i could thank god just for giving this day in my life where i could atleast do one job of feeding someone to the full. As it is said "Bhookhe ko ann aur pyase ko paani" is the greatest virtue you could do. I promised myself to atleast feed such children sometimes if i can't do it daily. And you all also, make it a habit to help the ones who actually suffer. I myself don't like to give money to beggars but feeding them with water or food may cost you some money but the happiness wrapped in it will be the cause of smile for you throughout your life..

Rape Cases Walk India To Shame

I was just going by the newspaper a few months back and what I read, sent shivers down my spine.
What is happening in this country? news of a 5-year old girl being raped. I was shocked. She was just 5, an innocent little child who had just started her life, her seed of life was just nurtured into little plant-tiny buds of her life just started growing and some idiotic sex starved jerk exploited her. It is shameful even after when the whole country protested against Damini's gang rape, this brutal practice still is on full swing.
Some cases come into the eyes of public and media while some are kept as a secret. Just because people think it will humiliate the girl. WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?
Why are people keeping fasts for goddesses when they just can't even respect a form of her. What would happen to that girl? Or thousands of other girls living under this horror? Everyday she would feel as If those pests are eating her soul. She will die everyday. What happened to all her dreams? Her happy life? No body would even accept her. She loses even her family. Never ever would she able to trust anyone. All she could do is,live in the dark shadows and realize what those monsters had done to her.

Damini lost her life cuz of such monsters who didn't have a control on their hormones. A 5-year old is stuck between life and death.
Another story of A teenager who was raped by 4 men and then humiliated by the police when she went for help. All the police said was *Hamari salah hai in me se ek se shaadi karlo. Nai to beizzati ho jayegi* and she committed suicide. Damn. What is this?

A girl portrays so many roles. A mother, a sister, a beloved, a wife, and still she is treated like some piece of rag.
Why aren't the accused being punishment? Why are they still free? Can there be a bigger crime than spoiling the whole life of a girl? I'm ashamed of all of this.

I still remember a candle light march organised in my city to protest against rapes and when I heard some boys over there, I felt ashamed, ashamed of our country, ashamed of mentality of people.
1st guy : Bhai Rape Vape ka to chodo. Ladkiya dekho idhar. Hayeee!! Tota hai puri.
2nd guy : Sahi me Yar. Vo blue top vali dekh. Man karta hai abhi pakad lu.

If you are actually protesting, mean it, don't just come for fun. And in the end rather than controlling themselves and ensuring safety for women, all they say is *Girls shouldn't wear short clothes, she should dress up properly*
Well no it isn't so. This is 21st century. A girl has her complete rights. But because of some people and their mentality, rape victims lead a life no less than a brutal punishment and a lot others live under those scary shadows. Every bit of me aches to see such a condition of my country. It's high time people. Start respecting women because she is the one who gave you life.
